Our trek north!

Yesterday I went north (yes further than Butser Hill!) for a meeting with one of my clients, Andrew Reeves from The Investment Coach.

I've not really experienced a proper client meeting before, so it felt strangely exciting and scary. Thankfully i had a mammoth two and a half hour drive to settle my nerves. Thanks to the M1, i also found that driving at fifty miles per hour on a motorway is incredibly boring!

The morning's meeting was extremely productive, and it swiftly led on to the afternoon's event, which was a GT session at Palmersport, Bedford.

We were fed, briefed, and led out to the track to drive four amazing vehicles.

The first car was the BMW M3. Souped up, boasting over 480 BHP, this was a monster. Baring in mind i drive a puny Citroen C2, this car was INCREDIBLE! Here's the video of my drive. In total (out of 13 participants) i came 5th. Not bad, i thought. About 4 laps in, the instructor leans over to turn off traction control and stability management. The effect is incredible!

The next car was the Caterham Super 7. Open wheeled, less powerful than the BMW, but still a beast. I have realised that if i ever wanted to own one, i would have to cut my feet in half, and the footwell is very tight. No power steering, just 4 wheels and a twisty track! And yes, i did manage to spin it to! In this session i wasn't as quick, but came 8th. Andrew, on the other hand, came 6th. His drive was more "hard-core" than mine.

We then got thrown into Renault Clio cup cars (this was the hardest car to drive for sure!) and a Porsche 911 (hubba hubba!) which i just fell in love with. So quick, but so easy to control. Amazing car!

So, all in all, for a first client meeting EVER, i would go so far to say that it was pretty epic! Thanks again Andrew!
