This year, like most years, i spent Mothers Day with my mum and family watching BTCC racing at Brands Hatch.
However this year was a little different to most for a couple of reasons.
Prior to the day (which was bloody excellent i must say!) i had learnt that the brother (@olliemillroy) of one of my long-standing clients, JML Financial (@jml_financial), was going to be racing on the day as well. He's an up-and-coming racing star, confident and with skills to match. You can tell when you meet people how determined they are, and i would be as bold as to predict that one day he'll be a house-hold name much like Mr Hamilton is now!
I popped Ollie a couple of tweets on the day, which followed in a brief chat outside his paddock. I took a couple of snaps of his car before the races, and swiftly left him to get on with his race preparation. As a parting comment he mentioned how hard Brands Hatch is for aero cars such as the Formula Renault class he's driving. This comment was plain to see from the racing, as spectacular as the cars look, it was obvious that they weren't in their element. The races were ever so slightly hampered by the course, and unfortunately for Ollie, he wasn't able to make it onto the podium in the races. None-the-less, it was a pleasure to meet the chap and watch his skillz (i was told using a zed shows how skillful the individual is!).
As a bonus, his car is sponsored by two of my clients, JML Financial and Tapco Home Dry. I had to take a snap, as i had a warm feeling seeing that two of my clients are doing well enough to help a young chap achieve his dreams. Worthwhile investment in my view!
Anyways, the photos are below!
